19 Jan Dancing through the ages.
Year 6 ended their week with their ‘stunning starter’ which involved having a boogie to different musical genres and emulating a variety of dances through the decades since 1930. As part of their new History topic ‘Life since the 1930s’ the children had a fantastic time dancing the Jive, ‘cha-cha-cha-ing’ and we even allowed some ‘dabbing’ at the end! Unfortunately, we didn’t have time for the Macarena, but the Backstreet Boys and Justin Bieber did make an appearance.
The children looked the part in excellent outfits- we had 60s psychedelic dresses; 70s shirts that would have given David Bowie a run for his money and some brightly coloured, Footloose-inspired skirts and ankle-warmers! Well done, Year 6. We look forward to seeing their ever creative projects on Life since the 1930s (due 2nd February) and can’t wait to delve deeper into the changes which happened over the decades.
