14 Jun Year 6 Residential trip
Our Year 6 trip to Mill Rythe was a week full of highs and more heights! The children had a fantastic time during their week away learning a variety of skills including archery, abseiling, climbing and fencing. The campfire was a great evening activity for the first day; it got us excited, in high spirits and early on we were celebrating our different talents! Some of the children bravely scaled the rope ladder to the take their turn on the ‘Leap of Faith’. They tested out their cartography skills during their orienteering activity, using a site map to find clues in order to move on the next part of the puzzle. Aiming for gold, all the children took part in a mini-Olympics – but with a twist! Hammer throwing, shot-put and drama racing were a few of the games they competed in to ultimately be the best team! They made up names for their groups such as: ‘Team Triple Threat – TTT’; ‘#bestteamever’; ‘Gangster Hamsters’ and ‘Team Ten Titans’. They made up chants and they even made up dances!
We had the best time with lots of fun, lots of laughs and lots of activities. The children’s behaviour was a credit to Holy Trinity – they were exemplary. Thank you to JCA who helped make the children’s week the best, and to all the staff who along with the children had a lot of fun and made the trip thoroughly enjoyable for everyone involved.
