30 Nov Anti-Bullying Week Success!
Anti-Bullying Week is complete and what a great week we had focusing on ‘Choosing Respect, Choosing Kind’ throughout the school. Our learning and assemblies have been tailored around this theme through the week and challenged the children on what ‘Respect’ is and what it would look like both here at school and wider afield. Classes produced a wide selection of work including acrostic poems, kindness raps and powerful speeches about stopping bullying in addition to creating kindness trees and working through a series of scenarios about being upstanders not bystanders in bullying situations.
Throughout the week children have watched an array of different respect and kindness videos which have helped give them a greater understanding of the need to choose kindness and choose respect in every walk of day to day life.
At the end of the week, each year group shared with the school some of the work and learning that they have done around this topic which was fantastic for the whole school to see! A great success for all involved!
What’s next? Anti-Bullying Workshop 2018
We are excited to have held an Anti-Bullying workshop on Thursday 29th November which was hosted by Open View Education and lasted the whole school day. During the day, children attended an Anti-Bullying Show and workshop which focueds around the theme of ‘Respect’.
