08 May Bright Sparks trip with Year 5!
On Tuesday 7th May, Year 5 took an exciting trip into London to watch the amazing London Philharmonic Orchestra! Our day started with a brisk stroll to Wallington station to catch a train to Clapham Junction. Once at Clapham Junction, we all had to take a quick walk onto another platform to catch a train to Waterloo. After arriving there, Year 5 carefully made their way to the Royal Festival Hall where we had the chance to eat our lunches at Southbank with the incredible view of the London Eye in the background. Then it was finally time for us to watch the orchestra! The children had some involvement throughout the afternoon and even got to sing along with a song that they had been learning in Music lessons. We got to listen individually to the different parts of the orchestra like the string instruments, the woodwinds, the brass and the percussion.
It was a fantastic day and the children represented the school wonderfully. We are so proud of all of them! Well done Year 5!
