01 Apr Hello from Holy Trinity
Mrs Gruffydd
Hello Everyone!
How are you? I do wonder…
I miss seeing all your smiling faces coming in at the gate each day! It’s very quiet in school these days.
As you can see, we have marked out the school in 2 metre spaces, for social distancing, even when we are in school. Sometimes when we meet in the corridor we have to do a little dance around each other to keep two metres apart.
I wonder if you can help me with a couple of tricky things I have been thinking about….
My April Challenges:
Maths-
Our classrooms vary in size a bit but the average area is 9 metres by 7 metres:
- If we have to have desks two metres apart, how many children can we have in a classroom?
- The hall has an area of 170m squared. If we have to be two metres apart at lunch time as wll, with 360 children to feed, each taking about 15 minutes, how lunch will our lunch time have to be?
Handwriting-
I’ve been very worried that you might not be doing any handwriting these days, and you may forget how to do it.I think that today it is very important to practice your handwriting. I want you all to write a full sentence with today’s date. 1000 times should do the trick!
Kindness-
Remember that this situation is tricky for everyone, children and grown-ups alike. Try very hard to make good choices for everyone in your family; it can be tough, but you can do it! I’m looking forward to hearing from your mums and dads about how you have played your part in all this; with good choices and mature decisions.
Remember our school values:
Love: “We love each other because he loved us first” 1 John 4.19. The sub values are: community, being non-judgmental, forgiveness, compassion and kindness.
Sending very best wishes,
Mrs Gruffydd

Hello Everyone,
I hope you are all safe and well! So strange not seeing all of you and hearing what you are all up to. At least we have had nice weather which is great. I’ve been doing lots of creative activities with my children to keep them entertained including making a rocket booster with bottles and tin foil.
I wonder if any of you have been doing the Joe Wicks workouts? I have and am out of breath each time but at least it gets us moving, 2 metres apart. I have attempted to bake and made some chocolate brownies, they were yummy.
I hope you are all enjoying being with your families and keeping safe.
See you soon,
Mr Still 🙂
