03 Jul Year 5 Greek Day!!
Last Friday, 28th June, Year 5 got to take part in their very own Greek Day! All children dressed up into costumes that resembled an outfit from the Ancient Greek times, and some children even dressed up as their favourite Greek beast!! We carried out our own mini Greek Olympics, which involved the javelin, shot put, discus, long jump, chariot race and marathon. During the afternoon, the children were treated to a wonderful theatre workshop group that told us many Ancient Greek tales.
Darcy and Kamira (Cedar class) gave us their recount of the day –
On Friday 28th June, Year 5 experienced Greek Day, it was brilliant! There were of activities that we tried including Greek food tasting and theatre workshop group but we could all agree that our favourite thing was our own mini Olympics! Our fun Year 5 Olympics was made up of so many fun Greek sports. It was a hot day but we enjoyed being outside in our costumes. Everyone made such an effort with their costumes and it was lovely seeing so many wonderful colours. Our exciting workshop was full of different stories from Ancient Greek times and got us all up acting. It was a super day that Year 5 will always remember and treasure forever. By Darcy and Kamira.’
