Community

In Sutton, we are one of four Church of England Schools in the London Borough of Sutton. As head teachers we meet together from time to time to support each other and discuss current issues in education. We were formerly part of Surrey County Council but this changed in the 1950s.

We have very close links with Beddington Infants School. It is situated just across the playing field. Most of our children join us from Beddington Infants, who also have a three form entry. Due to this we have a very carefully planned transition to help the children make a very successful transition from Key stage 1 (infants) to Key stage 2 (juniors). Holy Trinity sits amongst a diverse and vibrant community. We are lucky enough to have many an opportunity within Sutton, an incredibly community minded borough, to interact with our neighbours, local schools and community centres. We love to immerse ourselves in local activities whether it is sport, charity walks and choir performances.

Holy Trinity School was opened by the Bishop of Rochester in March 1896. It was built for about 400 pupils and cost the sum of £3000! The school in Bute Road was the results of the amalgamation of three prior schools, a Boys’ school, a Girls’ school and Infants in the local area and had two separate entrances.
