25 Feb Year 6 Bough Beech Trip
On Tuesday and Wednesday, Year 6 embarked on a trip to the Bough Beech Reservoir and Water Treatment Works. They spent the day learning all about how water is collected from the River Eden, stored in a huge reservoir and then processed through 8 different treatments to make it safe for everyone to drink. The impressive reservoir with its beautiful scenery, deep overflow pipe and exciting tunnel access below the dam was a highlight for the children as well as experiencing the special Flowzone education centre at the site. As an ending to our work on learning about rivers and water in general, it was an excellent way of consolidating our learning.
