Computing
At Holy Trinity, our Computing lessons aim to give pupils life-skills that will allow them to understand and utilise technology safely and responsibly.
All children have access to a Chromebook provided by the school as we recognise that technology can allow pupils to share their learning in creative ways. We also understand that having the opportunity to access technology can provide our pupils with a rich and balanced curriculum. We believe all children should become independent users whilst continuing to grow with confidence. We encourage children to develop their understanding through the teaching of our main strands. They will learn to problem-solve and debug algorithms; they will recognise how a computer works and know the components of a computer; they will also know how to keep themselves safe online and understand the importance of being a competent internet user. Computing is an ever changing subject and we feel it is important for the children at Holy Trinity to become digitally literate so that they are ready to be effective participants within the technological world.
Digital Strategy Working Party
Thanks you to the parents who attended to discuss their views about our digital strategy, social media, our computing curriculum, online safety and consult about the website.
Miss Alexander gave a presentation explaining everything that we do to use technology to support learning, to give children key technology skills for life, maintain a balanced life with the use of technology and keep them safe.
The Instagram communication from school, introduced last year, was also discussed, regarding how effective and helpful it is for parents.
Thank you to all those who took part.
