P.E.
Both physical and mental well-being are an important part of life at Holy Trinity through encouraging active lifestyles and healthy attitudes as well as nurturing the awareness of our own bodies and the world around us.
Our intention for P.E. is to develop character in our pupils through physical, social, cognitive and health and wellbeing skills. We begin by focussing on fundamental physical and movement skills of coordination, balance and agility; the social and thinking skills of teamwork, leadership, communication and competition. We emphasise the importance of personal challenge, respect, integrity and sportsmanship through activities in the P.E. lesson but also through the learning which takes place beyond the curriculum such as competitions and sport. We then transfer skills into sport and enable to children to experience a broad range of activities including sport and dance within the curriculum and outside the curriculum; giving children access to a range of opportunities for ALL pupils to engage with and links to wider events.
We aim for all pupils, families and members of staff to be positive, empowered and healthy members of the local and wider school community, through coordinated fitness mornings and personal challenges.
Our pupils have the exciting opportunity to represent Holy Trinity at the district sports competition. This thrilling event allows our talented athletes to showcase their skills and sportsmanship, competing against other schools in a range of track and field events. The district sports competition fosters a sense of camaraderie and healthy competition, while promoting physical fitness and a love for athletics. It’s a fantastic opportunity for our students to push their limits, achieve personal bests, and make lasting memories.
