09 Mar Pine Class’s International Women’s Day assembly
On Tuesday, Pine took on the mammoth task of celebrating International Women’s Day. They shared their understanding on this year’s theme of ‘Embrace equity’ and enlightened us all about the difference between equality and equity. They were able to share their learning from earlier in the year during their WW2 topic about the role of women during the war and how their roles were as important as the men fighting. We also heard about the struggles women have faced throughout history from Rosa Parks all the way to present day and the battles Malala Yousafzai faced in Pakistan. The children worked incredibly hard to demonstrate the importance of this assembly and despite some technical difficulties showed their resilience and got on with the task in hand. Some of them worked really hard on the PowerPoint which would be a shame not to share!
