Trinity Council

At Holy Trinity we see Trinity council members as young leaders who make a difference to other peoples’ lives.

Trinity Council 22-23

Motto Only with Thee, O God, we journey safely on
Vision Exemplary education for all, through God’s amazing grace.
4 year Vision target: By the end of July 2023: attainment and progress will remain above or within the national average; children will retain their knowledge securely; children will confidently articulate Christian values, children will be proactive learners and have aspirations for what they can achieve in life; children recognise how to behave towards one another in everyone’s best interests; children will know how to be healthy, safe and enjoy life to the full!

Values statement Learning together, as we journey with God in Love, we act with Integrity, treat others with Dignity and grow in Confidence.
We Learn: “Everything was created through Jesus and for him” Colossians 1.16.   The sub values are: Curiosity, Wisdom, Teamwork, Hard Work and Failing Well
We Love:  “We love each other because he loved us first” 1 John 4.19.   The sub values are: Community, being Non-judgmental, Forgiveness, Compassion and Kindness
We act with Integrity: “People judge by outward appearance, but the Lord looks at the heart” 1 Samuel 16.7. The sub values are: Faithfulness, Generosity, Honesty, Trustworthiness, Self-Control and Responsibility

We have Confidence : “Blessed are those who trust in the Lord and have made the Lord their hope and confidence.”  Jeremiah 17:7.

Aim – With our vision and values

  • Act practically in our school in order to take better care of our planet. (Make this part of our estate vision for the others coming after us in the future; reference the deeds written in 1896 when they were planning for the future – us).
  • To understand what the 2nd commandment looks like practically: Love others as ourselves

Learn about Age Concern

Queen’s charity – Friends (could this be a wellbeing assembly focus one day)

1)      Club to visits St Mary’s Court – once per fortnight? To play games, chat; draw, share a hobby; one group per half term- could be in class time; could be after school.

2)      Choir sing to Lunch club twice per year

3)      Music concert twice per year – invite St Mary’s Court and those in Bute Roar up to Stannet Way.

4)      Litter pick in the local roads once per week – Bute Road, Stannet way; alleyway; Manor Road.

5)      Decide which charities we are supporting this year and plan events now.

Eco focus

Refuse (plastic and unhealthy substances), reduce (waste), reuse (learn to mend or re-purpose); recycle

Refuse and Re-use

1)      Eco Fair and Gift day

·         Gift day – wrap gifts in newspaper/ used paper; just have a Christmas label ONLY

·         Gifts – can we have Eco gifts being made/bought and not plastic gifts?

·         Eco fair day is set; plan how to promote organic or eco gifts only

·         Clothes and bring and buy sale once per term?

 

Refuse and Re-use

·         Make cloth bags and learn about buying bulk to reduce packaging; make cloth bags to sell.

·         Look at use of blue paper towels; use hand towels and wash once per week in school machine? (start with staff room and staff loos?

·         Use white vinegar cleaning solution rather than antibacterial wipes at lunchtime?

·         Buy Eco glue only – research

 

Reduce – energy use and reduce wasted food

·         Turn off lights whenever possible

·         Plan an electric free day once per half term? (Learn other skills?)

·         Monitor our monthly electric and gas use each month and set a target to beat compared with the previous year.

·         Agree school temperatures to be set in school and wear more clothes?

·         More focus on children choosing their food on the menu more carefully so we reduce wastage with food.
